Music Genres

This project is broken down into several genres of music that have not been studied before. The students must research their choice of music and provide an example of the style of music. Please use a poster board or any unique method of presenting your style of music.
The research project expectations are as follows:
NOTE: Do not read from the presentation boards! Please use cue cards to assist you.
Areas of Research
1. Style of Music: name and introduce the style of music. Give a brief history (give dates – or ‘times’ and samples of the music) and origin of the music.
2. Artists / Composers: Name some of the composers / artists who created the style of music. ‘Pioneers’ of the music! (include pictures of artists)
3. Popularity and Purpose: Describe how and why the music shaped the people and cultures of the time (example: music during WWII).
4. Media Reach: how did this music reach the listeners?
5. Personal Reflection: Outline what you have learned about the style of music and evaluate how this project has changed your music awareness.
